Aquitania Wind Energy : a port alliance for floating wind power
In response to the urgent need to develop renewable energy, the four commercial ports of Nouvelle-Aquitaine have united to create Aquitania Wind Energy. This initiative emerged from their joint response to a call for expressions of interest launched by ADEME. The project aims to structure and develop France’s floating wind power sector. Selected as a winner, the port consortium is now working to establish a fully integrated logistics chain.
A transformative project for the energy transition
With Aquitania Wind Energy, the ports of Nouvelle-Aquitaine are making a strong commitment to developing floating wind power and building a competitive regional industrial sector. By combining their infrastructure and expertise, they are supporting:
- the creation of a dedicated logistics and industrial hub for marine renewable energy;
- the expansion of regional port capabilities to meet the challenges of the energy transition;
- the economic growth of the region, by creating jobs and attracting key businesses in the offshore wind sector.
This project positions the Atlantic coast of Nouvelle-Aquitaine as a central force in France’s renewable energy rollout.
